Virginia Fisher, Graduate Intern

I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Capella University and a counselor-in-training at Sapphire Counseling. I approach counseling from a person-centered and systems-informed perspective, believing that meaningful change happens within the context of supportive relationships and the environments we live in.
I am committed to creating a space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted as they are. I have a particular passion for working with individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community and strives to provide affirming, inclusive care that honors each person’s identity and lived experience. I recognize that many challenges are shaped by broader systems, including family dynamics, cultural expectations, and societal pressures. My approach is collaborative and grounded in compassion, helping clients explore their experiences, build on their strengths, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
I believe healing often begins in connection and am committed to walking alongside clients with patience, respect, and authenticity. I am also dedicated to ongoing learning and cultural humility to better support clients across diverse identities and experiences.
